Fantastic café experience

stayed at old bank town house for one night, and it was fantastic! the location is super central, just a short walk to kindle harbour. we had dinner at the affiliated hotel, and it was excellent with very attentive staff. loved the large double bed with soft, white linens, so comfortable!

would recommend.

This was a well-suited match for a cursory stop in Kinsale with excellent value for money. The cafe downstairs has the best breakfast and great coffee. Look for parking options nearby, some are free after certain hours.

Consider asking for a room with a view. the harbor scenery is stunning and enhances your stay significantly.

The room was nice and spacious, with a comfy king bed that made it easy to sleep well. The décor was charming, giving it a unique vibe. A bit of noise came from outside, but it wasn’t too disruptive. I did notice the bathroom door was tough to close without a good shove and had a large crack in the sink, which was kind of annoying. Overall, it felt clean and had a cozy atmosphere.

We had a wonderful family stay, especially with the stunning Blueberry Pancakes for breakfast! The kids loved exploring Kinsale’s shops, and our room was cozy with ample space for all of us. It felt like the perfect getaway with grandkids in tow.

In my wife’s opinion, it would be great to have more entertainment options for kids.

One issue we faced was parking. It can be tricky to find a spot nearby unless you park in the free lot, which is about a 10-minute walk away and involves a hill.

The location is spot-on, right in the center of all the action. The bed is incredibly comfortable, perfect for recharging after a long day, and having a coffee machine in the room adds that little extra touch for caffeine lovers.

Unfortunately, there are quite a few issues that came up during my stay. For starters, one night had no hot water, which can really ruin a shower—took ages for the water to warm up and then fluctuated unexpectedly. The sound insulation could use some serious work. I could hear toilets and showers from neighboring rooms, making it tough to sleep in. Not to mention the chilly temperature upon arrival, which didn’t help comfort levels. Plus, I found the whole experience a bit overpriced. it felt more like a guesthouse than a high-end spot. Finally, the parking situation can be a real hassle since there’s no dedicated space, and every spot matters in a town like this.

The location of Old Bank Town House is unbeatable, right in the heart of Kinsale. The staff made me feel welcomed from the moment I arrived. My room was spacious and the bed felt like sleeping on a cloud, so comfortable. I also appreciated the Nespresso coffee maker, a nice touch for my morning caffeine fix. While the room itself was fantastic, I had trouble with parking, which can be a challenge in the area. It's difficult to find a nearby spot without dealing with limits, so plan ahead. One odd thing was the fluctuating room temperature. sometimes it felt a bit too warm for comfort. Despite these minor hiccups, I really enjoyed my stay and the dining experience in their sister hotel, Blue Haven, was top-notch, with attentive service that added to the excellent atmosphere.

We had a wonderful one-night stay where we enjoyed fantastic meals and the incredibly cozy deluxe king room. The kiddos loved the leisure room and we appreciated the inviting lounge area for relaxing after a day out. One small issue was a bit of noise from the street, but it didn’t take away from our great experience. 😊
